Common Solutions To Appliance Problems
My dishwasher won’t drain
A very common cause of dishwasher draining issues result from recently installing a garbage disposal. Most people will miss the simple step of removing the drain plug on the garbage disposal which allows the dishwasher to drain into the sink drain.
My front loader washing machine has an odor
To help reduce the odor and mildew always make sure you leave the door to your washer propped open when not in use. To clean your machine add 2 cups (one full box) of baking soda in the washing machine. Run the machine on the longest and hottest cycle possible. Add 2 cups of white vinegar (with 5-10 drops of lavender essential oil) to the washing machine. Run again on the longest and hottest cycle possible.
My appliance won’t power on
Always be sure to check your breaker box before calling Appliance Professional! You may just have a tripped breaker!
My dryer takes a long time to dry
Be sure to check the settings first! “Fluff or Low Heat” are not settings designed to rapidly dry your clothing. Another common cause of poor drying is a clogged lint filter. Check both your lint filter as well as the outside dryer vent for any lint that may have built up there. The louver door–style vent covers are notorious for lint buildup, which traps heat and turns the heat off in the dryer. Pull the cover completely off to get to these clogs.
My washing machine rocks back and forth when it spins
When a washing machine cabinet rocks, it makes a horrible racket during the spin cycle. The solution is to simply readjust the legs. Screw the front legs up or down until the cabinet is level. When both legs are solid on the floor, tighten each leg's locking nut. In most washers, to adjust the rear legs, gently tilt the machine forward and gently lower it down. The movement will self-adjust the rear legs.
